This hotel is perfect for sightseeing in Edinburgh, it is a small 9 room hotel, the staff are great, however the breakfasts were not always consistant in size or quality, the towels in the bathroom were small, the soap in the bath was out of reach when in the bath. The castle is a 10 minute uphill walk, a must see attraction, Princes St which is the main shopping area is a ten minute walk across north bridge, Maxies Bistro is a 5 minute walk uphill to the left and the Royal Yacht Brittania is another must see attraction.

Plumbing in poor condition, plus bathroom not clean. Access through bar is awkward. Stairway is shabby. Poor light in room - not a place you want to go back to except to sleep.

Although not a huge hotel, it catered for our needs. The hotel is right on the Royal Mile so you can't get any more central. The staff were helpful and friendly. Each of the rooms are individually designed around famous Scots which is different from the norm. Would definitely recommend it.

As the hotel is more or less in the middle of the Royal Mile, on one side there is the Parliament building (awful looking), Holyrood Palace & park and Arthurs Seat. On the other side you have the shops, the castle, etc. Plenty to see and do.
We visited Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Zoo, the Dungeons. You have to like walking....a lot!! Loved the Filling Station restaurant and Hard Rock Cafe. Plenty of sights to see just walking around.

If your looking for a modern clinical hotel this is not for you.Old (but clean)building, rooms above a busy bar which does live music at the weekends.A flight of stairs that Sir edmond hilary would struggle with.Staff are great as was the food.We loved it and will go back.More for the adventurous person I think.

Lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Only critism would be that the room is on the small size- just enough room to walk along side of bed and into bathroom. Also no sewing kit which we needed.

We were going to a concert at Edinburgh Castle and the hotel was perfect location. Lots of nice places to eat and drink on the Royal Mile and very handy for Waverley Station. We ate at Gordon's Trattoria which was lovely.

A lot of stairs to the top floor, but it's worth it for the quieter night.
At breakfast time, avoid the scrambled eggs.(more like a dry, chopped-up omelette)

Localización muy céntrica y hotel curioso, pero no tiene ascensor, se entra por un bar, se desayuna en el mismo bar, las habitaciones son pequeñas... Eso sí, todo muy limpio y la gente muy maja.
