There is so much to see and do, it is difficult to pick just one or two.
We did take the train to North Berwick, it was beautiful,an unspoiled spot to relax.

My previous stay had a bedroom with a window to look out from. On this stay I requested a bedroom close to the ground floor, but got floor 5. The room had a glazed over window which only opened 4 inches up from bottom and through that slot you could see a fire escape. This meant having to go down 5 flights to see what the weather was like. At £684 for 4 nights I did not expect to be asked to pay on check out £1.20 for 3 morning newspapers!

The Chinese Restaurant round the corner Saigon Saigon is excellent.

Extremely helpful, attentive and friendly staff.
Surprised the restaurant wasn't more popular as the standard of food was very good.
Occasionally, though, some of the self service food dishes ran out at breakfast and weren'tt replaced immediately.
Less than 15 minutes walk from Royal Mile so ideally placed for seeing Edinburgh.
Single glazed windows meant quite a bit of noise at night as Princes Street one of the main thoroughfares.

Our room had frosted windows, presumably to blank out the horrible outlook on to a lane. Room very dark had to use lighting at all times. Felt enclosed. For this reason would not recommend to others.

The staff were friendly and helpful, however the breakfasts times on the saturday was a bit late as we wanted to leave earlier than room or restaurant times, therfore we had to leave later. The only other problem was the room allocated though the view was nice, trying to sleep was not so easy due to noise of the street and windows not double glazed and room was very hot.
